Source: 1980 06 Jetsonnes – Richmond Cassette.
Something from the pre-Hunters and Collectors band The Jetsonnes – which included Mark, John, Doug and Rob. As with all Jetsonnes material, it is substantially poppier than the art-rock Hunters that followed merely one year after this 1980 live recording. Today’s choice is inspired by Brett Pearson’s request for “a rare song”… this is probably a long way from what you were expecting! 🙂
Hi Guys
I look forward to these tracks each week and appreciate the time and effort that goes into making them available to the fans.
There is an error with the file this week (I have tried to open on 2 different computers without success). It may just be me but I would appreciate it if you could check that is downloading OK.
Thanks
Matt
think the zip for this one is broken. keep getting an error when I try to unzip it.
Please retry now, gentlemen! File sizes match now – always a good start! 🙂
I saw this band all the time. They used to do an out of sync version of Time Is Tight which sounded like something from the first H&C album and another song called Sweat Shop which had an instrumental bit in the middle a bit like World of Stone. I think Mark, Ray, Greg and maybe some other Hunnas played in something called Peter Lillie’s Guitar Method around this time and Greg was hitting his guitar strings with knives and spoons. Gotta tape???
Hmm. Definitely have not unearthed anything like that…! So if anyone has it…?
With the Jetsonnes, we definitely have Sweatshop but not so sure about Time is Tight…
