It’s Early Days Yet Jack, live 1984

MelbourneSource: 1984 08 24 The Venue, St Kilda, Melbourne, Australia

With the tour rocking up in Rutherglen on the New South Wales-Victoria border this weekend, we are only one week from the two massive gigs with Bruce Springsteen in Melbourne!

This gives us plenty of options for Vault track of the week, as there is no shortage of recordings from the great city of Melbourne.

So we are pleased to present a stellar live recording of one of the few 1984 era songs that can not be found on The Way To Go Out live album.

At the time of this recording, this track was called An Uncertain Spotlight. You may know it better as It’s Early Days Yet from the the 1984 album The Jaws of Life.

Trainspotters may notice the quality of this recording is unusually good…

’84 recordings are just so good… very nice choice Stuart!

I just love how the band of this era were just so go for the jugular and stripped back with just a hint of the arty beginnings before they headed for the more song writing approach soon after. That cream telecaster of Seymour’s just slices things up so nastily. Amazing stuff.

Just keep playing this over and over.
