Love All Over Again (Original Mix)

Source: 1989 Ghost Nation Original Mixes Cassette.flac

For a Ghost Nation selection, we have chosen a track from the Ghost Nation ‘original mixes’ tape. This tape came to our attention during Vault recordings from Jack, who preferred the brassier feel of the original mixes.

From that tape, we present Love All Over Again!

As a trumpet player I’ve always loved this song, although I’ve felt the sax solo was a little misplaced. Chris Dyer does some great trumpet work on it, so it was a very pleasant surprise to hear this original mix for the first time today.

Now that I’ve heard it I’m surprised it was ever a contender for a H&C album. Nice and brassy for me, and I’m sure the horn section loved it, but a huge sidestep for the Hunnas.

It was the right call to cut this back to more of a raw sound in the final mix for the album, which was of course reflected in the live performances too.

    Thanks for sharing, Stuart!
