They\u2019re one of the country\u2019s most loved bands: Hunters & Collectors.<\/p>\n
That means, by default, frontman Mark Seymour is a straight-up national treasure, and Paul & Lise jumped at the chance to have him on the show.<\/p>\n
While Seymour was promoting his latest tour, he also cleared up one great Aussie mystery\u2026<\/p>\n
We all know how Throw Your Arms Around Me goes, right?<\/p>\n
I will come for you at nighttime<\/em> Thing is, Paul brought up the one question that we\u2019ve all had at one time or another: \u201cWhat are the four places?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cUmm, Warracknabeal\u2026\u201d Seymour said, referring to the rural Victorian town.<\/p>\n \u201cBathurst, Kalgoorlie and, uh, Port Hedland.\u201d<\/p>\n Lise remarked on the WA towns he mentioned.<\/p>\n \u201cIs that how you like to kiss? In hot and sweaty places?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOh, look, there are levels of intimacy I can\u2019t divulge in the public space, which is where we are now,\u201d Seymour replied.<\/p>\n Paul jumped in saying he was happy to settle on the geographical answer.<\/p>\n We also learned something completely unsettling about the Hunters & Collectors\u2019 staple, Holy Grail.<\/p>\n The track almost never made the cut.<\/p>\n \u201cI really had to battle to get that song recorded, to be honest,\u201d Seymour admitted.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember when we made the album, that [song] was well down the list and there was a lot of debate as to whether or not it should be on the record.\u201d<\/p>\n Seymour said that some people, including other band members, who didn\u2019t feel comfortable with it being on the list.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I always thought that the lyric was very colourful,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it doesn\u2019t have a chorus either, I like the idea that it was a big radio song that didn\u2019t have a chorus,<\/p>\n \u201cI just thought, \u2018suck that one up boys\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n Mark Seymour & The Undertow, Encore Tour By Demand, October 27, Astor Theatre<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Comments<\/p>\n N\/A.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" An interview with Mark Seymour about Throw Your Arms Around Me and Holy Grail.
