Reunited Australian rock act Hunters and Collectors are playing a one-off show in Auckland the night before their Rolling Stones support slot in November. The band are supporting the Stones at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday, November 22.

The Melbourne group, which played a series of farewell shows in Australia this year, want to do the same for their New Zealand following.

So they’re returning to the Powerstation, a venue they played many times in their 80s and 90s heyday, on Friday, November 21.

The band are best remembered for their sweat-powered live shows and enduring songs such as Talking to a Stranger, Say Goodbye and the classic ballad Throw Your Arms Around Me.

Many of those appear on recent best-of collection The Crucible, which is packaged with a series of covers of their songs, including a duet on Throw Your Arms Around Me by Neil Finn and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.

Finn’s band, Crowded House, used to regularly cover the touchstone song and the band’s bassist Nick Seymour is the brother of Hunters and Collectors singer Mark Seymour. Hunters and Collectors originally disbanded in 1998.

Tickets go on sale via a Ticketmaster presale event on Wednesday, August 20 and on general sale from Monday, August 25.

Meanwhile, earnest alt-rockers Jimmy Eat World are also planning a Powerstation show in November.

The Arizona quartet are heading on the road to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their album Futures.

They’ll be performing the album from front to back at the Powerstation on Saturday, November 8.

Tickets go on sale on August 22, with a pre-sale for Frontier Touring members starting August 19.

Dubstep titan Skrillex and dance guru Steve Aoki will headline the upcoming Our: House dance party in Auckland at Mt Smart Stadium on November 28.

Other acts on the bill include What’s So Not, MK, The Peacekeepers, Jupiter Project, Dan Aux and DJ Tim Phin.

Tickets for Our: House go on sale on August 14 through Ticketmaster.

Lastly, controversial comedian Andrew Dice Clay is bringing his brand of controversial comedy to New Zealand for the first time. Also known as ‘The Diceman’, Clay will perform at ASB Theatre in Auckland on October 28.

Clay’s no-holds-barred brand of comedy has seen him banned from MTV for more than 20 years.

Tickets for his show go on sale on August 18 through Ticketmaster.
