Recorded at Gutter Studio’s, Barkers Creek, Victoria, 1996/97 (all on solar power!) except track 4, recorded at Harcourt Valley Recorders, 1998. Produced and engineered by Doug Falconer, except tracks 9, 11, 13 and 16, recorded by Tony Cameron. All tracks mixed by Doug at Harcourt Valley Recorders (thanks Mick).

Mastered by Andrew Skeoch at Listening Earth (Thanks Andrew and Sarah). Sleeve and CD artwork by Doug Falconer (front cover image adapted from “The Cure Of Folly” by Hieronymous Bosch, additional photography by Narelle Chellew).

This CD is dedicated to all the people and situations that struck the chords and discords which forced me to the piano. Not only to the ones I love, my family, friends and the townspeople, but also to what makes me mad in the world – all is inspiration – without which there would be no songs.

Thanks also: To the friends and family who played on “The Sorry Song or Song of Sorrow”: Lillian Falconer (violin and backing vocals), Phil McNamara (blues harp), Nick Raeside (cello), Jan Wositzky (seed pods), and Mick Ahearne for studio time at Harcourt Valley Recorders (the proceeds from this track will go to DONT – Defenders of Native Title). To Phil McNamara for blues harp on Blow Whistle. To the techno genii who compensated for my disability – especially to Doug for his patience and Tony Cameron who recorded 25 songs on 4 track and then gave a tape to Nigel MacLean! To the philosophers (lovers of wisdom) and poets (inspiration for the human condition), especially Rudolf Steiner who wrote most of the words to “Magician” in his introduction to “Theosophy” – I just added bits. To our town where the people are remarkable, the beauty amazing, and anything is possible. And lastly (and leastly) to all the record companies and publishers who knocked my back, because that allowed us to make this CD in our own gung-ho way! SF 1998.
