It’s three years since Mark Seymour delivered his excellent debut album, King Without A Clue, and this makes the wait worthwhile. Don’t You Know Me is a stunner. It is lifted from the forthcoming album One Eyed Man and on it, Seymour concentrates on the fundamentals of singing and arrangement with great results. The track is a lyrical journey, complimented by a steady beat, Hammond organ and acoustic guitars. Any station that has played Shawn Mullins or Crowded House will find ‘Don’t You Know Me’ a welcome addition to their playlists. A very fine release from one of Australia’s most progressive and endearing characters.
