Hunters and Collectors completed the fullest year in the professional career in 1986 – from the recording of their fifth album ” Human Frailty” to extensive national touring and a lengthy sojourn across North America to support the alum release their through I.R.S. Records.

Before years end they had their first gold album in Australian for “Human Frailty” and in New Zealand for their self – titled album with “Human Frailty” close behind.

For the early part of 1987 plans are similarly busy. February will be spent both touring (see tour dates) and in the studio with American producer, Greg Edward (engineer to John Cougar Mellencamp and I.R.S. stablemates R.E.M.). Hunters and Greg Edward will be completing tracks for North American release.

The tour will be titled “What’s A Few Men?” – the name of a track currently pegged as the next single and title of a new album due late ’87.

In April Hunters & Collectors will depart again for the U.S. Their 1986 tour was very much a working man’s tour and a settling ground for their growing profile Within these parameters the tour was a great success and, as is the ‘law of the land’ in America, follow up is extremely important. The April tour is therefore set to consolidate their success and give the band a broader market.

Hunters & Collectors have paid their dues and earnt the success they so richly deserve As much as 1986 was their year in Australia, 1987 could surely become their year for international recognition.
