The reunion wagon passes Hunters and Collectors by
YOU can bet that Hunters and Collectors won’t be jumping on the reunion bandwagon.
Singer/guitarist Mark Seymour is enjoying his solo career, with the release of his first album in nearly three years.
“There’s not a chance in hell,” Seymour said when asked about a reunion of the band that broke up in 1998.
“I took the good with the bad but it had run its course,” Seymour said.
“The band wasn’t firing particularly well at the end. The last couple of albums had some good songs on them but there was a level of frustration that various members had with their positions in the group creatively.”
He said the situation eventually became “unworkable” with a number of band members, including himself, wanting to split.
For the time being, Seymour is happy promoting his new and third solo album, Embedded, which is out on April 19 and getting ready for a national tour.
“We are booked up for May and I will probably be working right the way through until the end of the year,” he said.
