Mark Seymour and the Undertow is the headline act at this year’s Bulls ‘n’ Beats Barooga PBR and Strings music festival.
Coincidently Seymour and his retired band Hunters and Collectors are reforming and will be the supporting act for Bruce Springsteen as he returns to Melbourne in February for a once-off tour.
Seymour, who will perform at Barooga in December, will no doubt use this opportunity to play some of his famous Hunters and Collectors hits.
Hunters and Collectors have also been announced as the half-time entertainment at the AFL grand final.
Seymour will perform in front of a crowd of more than 90000 people.
‘‘It is just great to see the local festival lead act, Mark Seymour performing with the iconic Springsteen and on AFL grand final day,’’ Strings Festival (Bulls n Beats) secretary Ben O’Dwyer said.
‘‘We couldn’t have possibly hoped for anyone better than Mark Seymour to lead the entertainment at Bulls ‘n’ Beats and to now see him invited to perform in front of huge crowds will be another reason to get along and enjoy our great line up of talent on stage.’’
Other confirmed acts include Sarah McLeod of The Superjesus, The Pigs as seen on Australia’s Got Talent, Dreamboogie, Concorde Joe, Benny Walker Band and the young local band Ellipsis who won their spot in a battle of the bands at Yarroweyah.
This will provide a fantastic line-up of talent performing over eight hours.
Add to this the Barooga PBR Truck Show and the opportunity to see some of the best professional bull riders showing their skills.
Gates on Saturday, December 7 open at noon for 12 hours of great entertainment.
