Perth rock band Birds of Tokyo will feature with a reformed Hunters and Collectors as the headline acts at this year’s AFL Grand Final.
Hunters and Collectors’ hit Holy Grail has long been used as an AFL anthem.
Hunters and Collectors will play at the half-time break and Birds of Tokyo will entertain the crowd before the first bounce.
Both bands will play at the premiership party after the game.
Birds of Tokyo topped the charts earlier this year with fourth album, March Fires, the follow-up to their self-titled third of 2010, which won the ARIA Award for Rock Album of the Year.
Led by singer Ian Kenny, whose other band Karnivool are also chart-toppers, the nine-year-old quintet has scored hits with the singles Plans, This Fire, Lanterns and Wild at Heart.
