“Gigs have a funny way of ‘popping’ pretty much anywhere”

Greetings Punters,

Mid-year has been very quiet. I posted the last newsletter right in the thick of touring the Boxer album.. I remember thinking then that between touring in ’24 and again in the first half of this year ‘The Boxer’ was possibly the longest run I’ve done.

Gigs have a funny way of ‘popping’ pretty much anywhere. The last one was at the Ord Valley Muster in Kunnanurra at the end of May.

Gigs can be pretty random. I’ve grown used to leaving my bags at the door but shortly after Kunnanurra I managed to rupture the ACL in my right knee. It was fairly serious but I still managed to limp home from the gym.. Needless to say it was self-inflicted.

So, June 30 was Surgery and the goal was to walk on stage in Brisbane on September the 12th. In the meantime I’ve been seen wandering the Phillip Island Cliff top with the help of a crutch which believe me, is a step in the right direction..

NO MORE TEARS!

And back to the main game, standing centre stage behind a mic, me, the lads and a telecaster. Here are the fun facts I’d like to share.

September 12 in Brisbane at the Hamilton Hotel
September 13 in Townsville at the ‘Sounds of Rock’
September 26 in Manly, ‘ Night at the Barracks’ with Ian Moss

And Another Red Hot Summer tour.. this time supporting my brother’s band ‘Crowded House’
We’ll be joining with Vika and Linda on stage

First show October 4 in Mackay, through to December 6 in W.A. at the Sandalford Winery..

As I said, I’m looking forward to it. We’ll see you in the thick of it
