Ed Sheeran leads All-Star Mushroom: 50 Years of Making Noise Album

Mushroom Group has revealed the full album of reimagined Mushroom songs, Mushroom: 50 Years of Making Noise (Reimagined) culminating in a truly special recording of Hunters & Collectors classic Throw Your Arms Around Me by global superstar Ed Sheeran.

“What a remarkable collective of artists to reimagine some of the greatest Mushroom songs throughout our 50 years,” said Mushroom Group Chief Executive, Matt Gudinski.

To complete the series with the release of Ed Sheeran singing one of Australia’s greatest songs Throw Your Arms Around Me is a reflection of the relationships we hold with artists all over the world. A truly special moment for a special song.”

Featuring Mushroom talent from its prolific 50 year history, including Vance Joy, Amy Shark, Jimmy Barnes and The Temper Trap, Mushroom: 50 Years of Making Noise (Reimagined) is symbolic of an unmatched contribution to the landscape of Australian music.

The collection also paints an incredibly promising picture for the future of Mushroom’s local talent, poised to take Australian music to the world. Mushroom: 50 Years of Making Noise (Reimagined) includes:

Throughout 2023, Mushroom has commemorated 50 years of unforgettable songs with a project of reimagined singles, where artists across the Group have covered some of Mushroom’s iconic catalogue.

The album prefaces the culmination of the yearlong Mushroom 50 festivities, a one-night-only spectacular at Rod Laver Arena this Sunday 26 November, where an all-star line-up will come together on one stage to celebrate Mushroom and its legacy through 50 songs for 50 years. The landmark Mushroom 50 Live concert will also be broadcast on Channel 7 and available to stream on 7plus on Sunday 26 November 2023.
