Mark Seymour And The Undertow & Kate Miller-Heidke To Perform At The AFL Grand Final
Who’s ready for the Holy Grail on the MCG’s hallowed turf?
Exciting news from the AFL this afternoon, as EGM Commercial and Customer Kylie Rogers has revealed that Mark Seymour & The Undertow and Kate Miller-Heidke will perform at the AFL Grand Final.
Miller-Heidke will join the Aussie rock icons as a special guest while also performing the Australian National Anthem before the match begins.
While KISS were announced as the AFL Grand Final headliners for the pre-game entertainment, they’re now joined by world-class didgeridoo player William Barton and Jess Hitchcock, Miller-Heidke’s National Anthem and Mike Brady leading the traditional motorcade to farewell retiring players.
Mark Seymour & The Undertow, with their special guest Kate Miller-Heidke, lead the halftime entertainment. Pre-game excitement starts at 1:30 pm AEST, while the halftime entertainment begins at 3:15 pm.
Seymour said about his return to the G for the 2023 AFL Grand Final in a press release (via the AFL website), “I’m very excited to be back at the MCG to perform on this great day on our national sporting calendar and to have the opportunity to sing songs in celebration of our game.”
Miller-Heidke added that while she’s honoured to perform the Australian National Anthem on the big day, singing “alongside one of the legends of the Australian Music scene, Mark Seymour” marks “a huge day for us all, and I am proud to be girt by such wonderful Australians.”
Mushroom Events Project Director Anna Toman commented that the company is “delighted” to welcome such a “diverse and iconic all-Australian lineup to the MCG for the Toyota AFL Grand Final.”
Toman continued, “Mark Seymour is one of our most celebrated artists, and he’s armed with some truly legendary footy anthems.
“On top of that, we have darling Kate-Miller Heidke, widely acclaimed artist William Barton, and exciting newcomer Jess Hitchcock rounding out what will be a sensational show.”
