TOURING NATIONALLY IN OCTOBER
‘SLOW DAWN’ TOUR 2023

From Adelaide to Brisbane, Newscastle, Sydney and Melbourne, Mark Seymour & The Undertow are taking the album ‘Slow Dawn’ on the road.

Hi there Stuart Fenech,

Be warned, I’m catching up with this note. There’s been a lot of action recently that has kept me silent.. Pretty much for the whole of June.

Finishing the Red Hot Summer tour was a bit like running off a cliff.

We flew home from Mackay at the end of May and went straight into the studio to record a new album of songs accumulated over the tour. There were a pile of riffs and words backed up on my iphone that I trawled through to extract the good stuff.

“Let me tell you, there are some howlers on my iphone that will never see the light of day.”

As it stands now, we pared them down to eight tracks which left me short so there’s another session looming early in August.. which also might help to explain what happened to June.

I’ve been writing pretty much all that time and as the process goes, you write a lot for very little. Let me tell you, there are some howlers on my iphone that will never see the light of day.

At this stage we have a working title.. “The Boxer”, and a front cover.. which will surface early next year.

A single is due for release on October 5.. either the title track, ‘The Boxer’ or ‘Cherry Red.’

One of these tracks will surface live in the set.. when we step back out onto the road.. in October.. for a string of shows in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne..
