Greetings,
It’s been a good two years since the first of these. Heading now towards 2023, a lot has been missed.
Still, I felt it best to sit back and wait until ’23 was locked in which it is now, before we declared anything substantial and as in all things musical, booking gigs, seeing what landed and what didn’t, I can tell you it is with great relief that work is stretching onward, for everybody who makes a living, singing, playing, bands and crew alike.
’23 will be busy for us. A four month Red Hot Summer tour starting in January.. and a theatre tour after that..
Right now I’m writing new songs with a view to recording mid-year.. It takes a long time for the best work to rise..
Good things erupt slowly.
In the meantime, given the painful uncertainty we’ve all endured, ‘Slow Dawn’ the album will be given a kick start in conjunction with the gigs we’ve locked in, with a roll out of videos on social media and YouTube.. from January through to May, showcasing individual songs from the live recording of the entire album during lockdown.
Along with this will be a suit of ‘mini-videos’ recorded by my deeply talented friend Stuart Spence, on various hand held devices mainly around Sydney, on his own during lockdown..
These will convey the mostly darkened but beautiful landscape we’ve just left.. dynamic and full of power..
The first of these videos will land on Thursday December 29..
The Undertow playing ‘Against My Will’ live at the Forum..
We’ll keep the latest video loaded up at markseymour.com.au for you at all times.
A fresh start begins..
See you in your patch!
