Paul Kelly, Bernard Fanning and Missy Higgins top Cairns Red Hot Summer Tour line-up
Organisers have released the line-up for next year’s Red Hot Summer Tour in Cairns filled with legendary artists. Find out the details, including when you can get tickets.
The show that brought rock legends to split ears in Cairns in 2022, and included Living End frontman Chris Cheney playing his guitar with a VB bottle, has taken a mellow turn for 2023 by naming a line-up of musical sages that are poised to tug the heartstrings.
The line-up includes Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins, Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning, Vika & Linda, Ian Moss and Troy Cassar-Daley.

Hunters & Collectors frontman Mark Seymour also joins the line-up after delivering a poignant performance with the band in the 2022 tour, although it did include a hiccup when he forgot he was meant to perform one of his songs with Chris Cheney, which resulted in a brief moment of confusion for both artists.
“Yeah I definitely hammed it up,” Mr Seymour said, with a giggle.
“We had a good time in Cairns last time, that’s for sure. Cairns has got a great feeling about it.

“It’s a really nice fresh take on Red Hot Summer; it will have a different feeling this time, for sure. I’m glad I’m playing among all those people.”
Missy Higgins said she is also excited by the line-up.
“A lot of those artists have loyal fan bases that have gone back decades; there’s a particular magic playing in front of group of diehard fans,” Ms Higgins said.
“I’ll have my whole band there. It’ll be a lot of singalong songs, especially for the ladies, because there’s a lot of blokes (in the line-up).
“The Cairns audiences always have a friendly and excited vibe. It’ll be a lot of fun.”
