Greetings,
Heading into June, we’ve just completed a short four gig run through Melbourne and Sydney as a five piece with the very talented Dorian West on Brass and Keys..
Dipping our toes in the water in a time when people are still reluctant to go out and see live music and though this is understandable given the nation’s longstanding exposure to Covid, we believe it is up to us to demonstrate that the experience is well worth it for anyone willing to venture out in the future.
The shows nudged the two and a half hour mark with plenty of story-telling and open-ended songs which is what makes singing in front of the Undertow so exciting.
The show in Marrickville was particularly memorable. I was pretty stiff walking off stage at the end.
Nevertheless, the gigs are coming in. We’ll be joining forces with James Reyne in July, first gig at the Forum in Melbourne. We’re heading into rehearsal next week.
I have to say, there is a powerful feeling out there right now. The enthusiasm of audiences is humbling. People are just glad to be seeing live Australian music once again which makes the journey so much more rewarding.
It’s great to be performing once again.
See you out there,
Mark Seymour
