Greetings,
Just back from the Easter weekend in Saint Kilda. Two nights at the MEMO Music Hall, two sets a night. One retrospective of the last three albums, followed by a full rendition of the ‘Slow Dawn’ Album, our latest and Hannah Seymour stepped up to join us as well.
It was great to shake the dust off after so long.
We were scheduled to head up to Byron Bay on the Sunday but a random outbreak of Covid in the area forced the festival to cancel.
Though we were deeply disappointed we couldn’t make it, we feel for all the workers who were denied employment over the Easter weekend.
Covid has effected hundreds in the music industry and most of them are invisible.
Still, the consequences of a potential ‘super Covid bomb’ ignited by even a single infected person moving through the fifty odd thousand crowd who would’ve been there from all over Australia, then subsequently returned to their home states.. it could easily have undone the entire national effort of the last twelve months..
On the bright side, there are gigs beginning to trickle in as the vaccine rolls out and the rules surrounding crowd size and density become more workable.
We’ll keep you posted!
Mark Seymour
