Just ask any of the thousands of music fans how hot this summer has been and the answer will be “Red Hot”.
The Red Hot Summer Tour is making its way around Australia and very soon it will pull into Dubbo for one of its final gigs of the season.
The concert series, which is now in its 10th year, features some of the biggest names in Australian music with iconic band Hunters and Collectors to headline the show.
Also taking to the stage is: James Reyne, The Living End, The Angels, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Boom Crash Opera.
There have already been 19 sold out shows and the Dubbo concert on Saturday, April 4 is the final NSW gig with any availability.
Just 5500 tickets went on sale for the Dubbo date and tour promoter Duane McDonald said music lovers will need to get in quick so they don’t miss out.
“People are loving it, there’s something for everyone. There’s something from the 70s, 80s and 90s,” he said.
“It’s a real broad range this year for the line up.
“It opens some people’s eyes up to such great music like The Living End.”
Mr McDonald said every band on the line up was very well known on the Australian music scene and the songs they play are “iconic”.
“They’ve just got these anthems,” he said.
“As soon as the Hunters and Collectors fire up with Holy Grail the place just fires up,” he said.
Mr McDonald said the tour’s focus on regional areas had a positive economic impact on each town that they visit.
“They [music lovers] stay the night and they eat and drink in the area,” he said.
“It’s just a great day out and it’s been going for 10 years.”
