Despite a move from January to March, the Red Hot Summer Tour music festival has sold out its Ballarat date for 2020.
With a lineup led by a reformed Hunters and Collectors, promoter Duane McDonald said the news was good for regional touring, especially following the success of the inaugural Ballarat Spilt Milk festival last year.
“Spilt Milk coming to Ballarat is one of the greatest coups for the town, regardless of whether you like the music, what that’s done for Ballarat, it’s lifted the profile in the music world, it’s just incredible,” he said.

“The overflow, even into our event, has been great, it’s ignited Ballarat as being a destination for great music and a place you want to go for a weekend and stay.”
The Red Hot Summer Tour has been visiting Ballarat for 10 years, and has sold out almost every date for 2020 across Australia.
“The Living End have been exploding on-stage, it’s really lifted the bar,” Mr McDonald added.
“Hunters, to hear those songs, they’re really anthems, and you can’t see this band every week – it’s a long time between drinks for these guys.”
The tour, which also features James Reyne, The Angels, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Boom Crash Opera, arrives at Ballarat’s North Gardens on March 28.
