Breaking News: For the final 2017 Sydney and Melbourne shows, the entire Hunters and Collectors brass section – The Horns of Contempt – will be joining Midnight Oil!
The magnificent Jack Howard – best known here for the Hunters brass we know and love – has been touring the world with Midnight Oil throughout this year.
He’s not just doing occasional trumpet, as he told us:
…as the days and weeks roll on and the immense scope of the song list becomes apparent, I am given a myriad of cowbell, keyboard, backing vocal, flugel horn, trumpet and lemon shaker roles to fulfill. I even get to provide comic relief during the shows eventually – playing Rob’s drums (Simmons pads in Generals Talk) when he ventures front of stage to play the cocktail kit and sing.

Midnight Oil and Hunters and Collectors have a long standing relationship over the last thirty years – remembered fondly by many international fans for the 1990 tour where Hunters supported the Oils.
