This week, Crucible fell from #3 to #12 on the Australian albums chart – which is still a higher chart position than any Hunters album has reached since 1994 🙂
We also have some great detailed Australian music chart information for last week (7 October 2013 chart date) that we can now provide:
ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) publishes ‘chartifacts’ each week, and reported this on the Hunters success:
No.3 CRUCIBLE: THE SONGS OF HUNTERS & COLLECTORS – Various. This double disc set celebrates the career of ARIA Hall Of Fame inductees, Hunters & Collectors. Disc one features covers of their greatest songs by the likes of Birds Of Tokyo, Oh Mercy, Alpine, The Living End, Husky, The Panics, and Cloud Control. The last time Hunters & Collectors had a new entry on the ARIA Albums chart was with their greatest hits package, Natural Selection (No.40 Nov. ’03). It re-enters the chart at No.59 this week and their biggest hit, Holy Grail (No.20 July ’93), re-enters the ARIA Singles chart at No.60 this week.
Note that True Tears of Joy is the highest charting Hunters single, having peaked at #14 early in 1993. Holy Grail might have been the highest selling Hunters single overall, but was not the highest charting.
