Hunters and Collectors have announced their first tour since 1998, including a run of dates as part of A Day On The Green and theatre shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

The Day On The Green tour kicks off on Saturday, January 25 in Geelong and will include concerts in the Hunter Valley, Launceston, Perth and McLaren Vale in South Australia. Playing alongside Hunters and Collectors will be Something For Kate, You Am I, British India and Diesel. Support at their theatre shows will come from The Panics.

The announcement marks a big few weeks for Hunters & Collectors who have been named as support for Bruce Springsteen’s shows in Melbourne, are set to perform at the AFL Grand Final this Saturday, and are the focus of a new tribute album. Set for release on September 27, Crucible – The Songs of Hunters & Collectors features 15 covers from an impressive list of acts. It will include an Avalanches remix of ‘Talking to a Stranger’, The Rubens doing ‘Holy Grail’, Something For Kate’s take on ‘When the River Runs Dry’ and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Crowded House’s Neil Finn teaming up for ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’.
