Commentary

“It’s Time” is a political song created by the Australian pro-Republican movement around the time of the referendum in 1999. The model proposed for an Australian republic was rejected by the people (hence the pro-Republican movement was unsuccessful). Australia remained a constitutional Monarchy.

“It’s Time” is performed by a collection of Australian artists, one of which is Mark Seymour. Tim Freedman (The Whitlams) and many other fairly well known Australian artists also feature in the song.
