Kiama Municipal Council and the organisers of Red Hot Summer Tour – Kiama have advised that tomorrow’s event is going ahead.

“Red Hot Summer is a commercial private event and council is not responsible for determining if the event proceeds. This decision can only be made by the event organisers and Public Health,” the council said on Friday, March 13.

“The Chief Medical Officer’s advice regarding non-essential mass gatherings will take affect from Monday.

“The event organisers have met all the requirements specified by NSW Health and are adding the following additional precautionary measures including:

Hand sanitiser stations
Additional hand wash basins and facilities
Extra sanitisation stations at all bars and food outlets.

“The organisers have asked any ticket holders who are not well to reconsider attending tomorrow’s event.”

Kiama Council is following the advice and directives of NSW Government agencies regards COVID-19.

“This includes considering the health and wellbeing of community as well as our own staff and volunteers,” the council said.

“We will endeavour to pass on to our community information provided by the relevant authorities as it becomes available.

“However, it is important everyone refers to NSW Health for advice and updates.”
