Red Hot Summer Tour, Dubbo, 2020: Coronavirus fears force cancellation of tour

Headliner: The Hunters and Collectors were supposed to headline the now cancelled Red Hot Summer Tour in Dubbo.

The planned Red Hot Summer Tour in Dubbo is the latest event to fall victim of the spread of coronavirus.

The cancellation comes following the Australian Government’s directive that gatherings of more than 500 people are banned.

Promoters have been forced to cancel six remaining dates for the tour, including Dubbo, while another three were rescheduled.

The Red Hot Summer Tour was to be held at Lazy River Estate on Saturday, April 4 and feature an all-Australian line-up including: Hunters and Collectors, James Reyne, The Living End, The Angels, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Boom Crash Opera.

Promoter Duane McDonald apologised to music fans who had planned their weekend around attending the Red Hot Summer Tour.

He said event organisers had been working around the clock to try and find suitable alternatives to reschedule dates, where possible, since the government’s announcement on Friday.

We have made every effort to reschedule all of the dates left on this tour.

Among the rescheduled shows were performances in Kiama, Ballarat and Barossa which have been rescheduled for October 2020.

Ticket holders will automatically have their tickets transferred to the new event.

While planed shows in Dubbo, Wodonga, Darwin, Cairns, Mornington and Noosa have been cancelled with ticket holders to receive a full refund.

“We have made every effort to reschedule all of the dates left on this tour,” Mr McDonald said.

“We are experiencing uncertain times and we appreciate the support we have received from everyone as we have worked to make a plan forward.

“If we haven’t been able to reschedule your show, we will return to your town next summer with our 2021 line up.”

For cancelled shows, refunds will be processed via Ticketmaster to the original account holders method of payment.

For rescheduled shows your existing tickets are valid for the new date.
